Work carried out by the Attorney General's Office

1. To represent the State on filed cases on behalf of the State and against the State.
   
   
2. To provide legal advice regarding contracts and agreements made between the State and other parties, and other matters requested by the government.
   
   
3. To determine rules and procedure regarding investigations and ensure its application.
   
   
4. Provide legal advice on bills passed by the People's Majlis before these are approved by the President.
   
   
5. To give examination on the constitution for foreigners wishing to become Maldivian Citizens.
   
   
6. To make the Public aware of the Laws.
   
   
7. To run and monitor the works of the Law Commission.
